On 26th November 2014, there was a celebration activity hosted by the UAE Ministry of Public Works (MOPW) at the site office of Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital Project in order to celebrate the UAE’s 43rd National Day.  H.E. Abdallah Bulheif Al Noueimy, Minister of UAE Ministry of Public Works, along with vice ministers, undersecretaries and the project team were present at the celebration.

During the celebration, the UAE Ministry of Public Works awarded the National Day Memorial Medal to CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) for recognizing our great efforts and contribution in the construction for the Healthcare sector in the UAE. H.E. Abdallah expressed that CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) is a reliable partner and MOPW will look for another opportunity to cooperate with CSCEC ME in other fields in the future.

This event has further strengthened the friendly relationship between CSCEC Middle East (L.LC) and UAE Ministry of Public Works.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates:

SKAI Holdings, the Dubai-based real estate investment company, has announced that it has completed just over 30 percent of the construction of its USD 1 billion Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah development, and is on track to open as planned in 2016.

China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC ME), the project’s main contractor and a key investor, has now begun structural works on level 14 of the 16 storey building. Work has also commenced on the fit out and mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP) works.

The luxury residential and hospitality project will offer 477 spacious rooms and suites and 222 signature Viceroy Residences. The property is situated at the base of Palm Jumeirah and is easily accessible from the city’s downtown center.

Yu Tao President and CEO of CSCEC ME said: “With almost a third of the construction completed on Viceroy Palm Jumeirah we are on schedule to open to guests in 2016.  Dubai’s tourism and hospitality sector continues to perform well, and with a clear vision and dynamic strategy led by Government and fully supported by the private sector, we expect continued and sustainable growth over the mid and long term.”
SKAI Holdings Suites in the SKAI at Jumeirah Village Circle is also under construction. Excavation work is in progress on the hospitality project, according to BNC data on this project. The 60-storey tower comprising of 234-hotel rooms, 234 one-and-two bedroom apartments and 33 penthouses is worth an estimated USD 329 million. The project is slated for completion in 2017.

The Volunteer Team of CSCEC ME took part in the “Clean Up the World 2014” campaign on 13rd November. 75 volunteers cleaned the litters and rubbishes in the NAD AL SHEBA area and their hard work was highly appreciated by Dubai Municipality.

Organized by Dubai Municipality, “Clean Up the World” is aimed at spreading awareness among the community in keeping the city clean, smart and healthy by getting rid of bad practices such as littering, spitting, smoking, drying clothes in balconies etc.

On September 28th, the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai hosted a Chinese National Day Banquet in conjunction with Reward Ceremony to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China in Grand Hyatt Dubai.

It has been presented with a warm speech by H.E. Mr. Tang Weibin, Consul-General in Dubai, where he notified that the UAE-China relations have entered a new phase of further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation which serves the fundamental interests of both peoples. The Chinese government will insist on implementing more proactive opening-up strategy, improving the open economy system and promoting the bilateral development between the two countries on a long-term perspective.

During the banquet, there was the Reward Ceremony for handing prizes to the organizations for their outstanding contributions to strengthening the China-Arab cooperation as well as promoting Chinese language in Dubai. Mr. Yu Tao, President & CEO of CSCEC ME received the Construction Achievement Award and expressed the appreciation to the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China for continues guidance and great support to CSCEC’s development over the past ten years. Mr. Yu Tao expressed that after a decade, CSCECME have become an international EPC contractor that gained great reputation within GCC market for deliveration of quality completed projects on time. He has also mentioned the Construction Achievement Award is not only a recognition by the Chinese Consulate General of what CSCEC ME have accomplished today, but also an inspiration to future success in business. Our Client, Skai Holdings and TAMOUH have also won the Award for outstanding contributions to promote the China-UAE cooperation.

Dubai’s official representatives, such as H.E. Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, H.E. Essa Kazim, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, H.E. Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry were also present. More than 600 people from the media, Chinese enterprises in the UAE, overseas Chinese representatives, etc. attended this Chinese National Day Banquet as well.

CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) was invited to attend The 1st Global Confucius Institute Day event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the first overseas Confucius Institute on 27th September, 2014. The event jointly held by Hanban CI Headquarters, Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai and Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, aims to continuously promote Chinese cultural and to create better communication platform for whom learning Chinese Language and understanding Chinese Cultural in the UAE and in other GCC regions in general.

Mr. Tang Weibin, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai and Mr. Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, delivered the speech respectively and spoke highly of the hard work of Confucius Institute at the University of Dubai.

Chinese folk artists and the Confucius Institute students performed a dance together, zither playing, solo and Chinese martial arts and other programs. Among them, the participants from Egypt Hanna Di dressed in festive red Chinese traditional costumes, extremely rich recite the well-known story in China Little Tadpole Looking for Mom, attracted the audience bursts of laughter and applause.

Mr. Shao Jijiang, Vice President of CSCEC visited CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) from 14th September to 17th September 2014,

Mr. Shao was warmly welcomed by Mr. Yu Tao, President& CEO of CSCEC ME (L.L.C). Accompanied by the senior management, Mr. Shao was shown around the HQ Office in Dubai. Mr. Yu Tao delivered a presentation relating to the Company’s overall business operation and especially highlighted the business model upgrade, development of regionalization and informatization. Mr. Shao reiterated that CSCEC ME (L.L.C) should further explore the local construction market with professionalized means and enhance the cooperation with banks as well as sister companies.

During his visit, Mr. Shao also visited the Civil & Infrastructure Division, MEP Division, City of Lights Project as well as Viceroy Hotel Project.

Also present at the meetings was Mr. Zhu Jijun, General Manager of CSCEC Strategy and Planning Department.

On 18th August and 19th August 2014, Mr. Ma Zeping, Vice President of CSCEC visited CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C).

Mr. Ma was warmly welcomed by Mr. Yu Tao, President & CEO of CSCEC ME (L.L.C). Accompanied by the senior management, Mr. Ma was shown around the HQ Office in Dubai. Mr. Yu Tao delivered a presentation relating to the Company’s overall business operation and especially highlighted the development of Civil & Infrastructure business over the last decade. Mr. Ma reiterated that CSCEC ME (L.L.C) should further explore the local infrastructure construction market with professionalized means and enhance the cooperation with banks as well as sister companies.

During his visit, Mr. Ma also visited the Civil & Infrastructure Division and the Viceroy Hotel Project.

Mr. Li Jian, Deputy Chief Economist of CSCEC paid a visit to CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) on July 21st to July 25th.

Mr. Li Jian reiterated that internationalized development strategy would be our corporate prioritized strategy, so CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) should further support and develop regionalization in the Middle East with professionalized means, and improve efficiency and quality of specialized and regionalized works through standardized management and informationalzed integration technology. He hoped CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C) would stand fast as always and strive to build the company into the top regional conglomerate group in the Middle East.

During Mr. Li’s visit, he visited the Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal Steel Structural Subcontract Project and expressed his gratitude to all staff’s dedication and hard work.

On July 18th   - July 21st, 2014, Mr. Pu Yulong, the Officer of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) inspected CSCEC Middle East (L.L.C).

Mr. Pu Yulong was welcomed by Mr. Yu Tao, President & CEO of CSCEC ME L.L.C. Accompanied by the senior management of CSCEC ME L.L.C, Mr. Pu Yulong was showed around the Viceroy Hotel Project at the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai and City of Lights Project & Al Falah Interchange Project in Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Pu Yulong appreciated our comprehensive capabilities in the local and overseas construction business. He spoke very highly about the Company’s achievements to date and committed to provide any possible assistance or support to CSCEC if required when undertaking future business development.
